Cocoonics is a Shanghai-based music producer and DJ originally from Hong Kong, celebrated for her genre-defying sets that intricately blend bass, breaks, left-field techno, and electro. Her performances invite listeners into a vibrant auditory landscape, immersing them in an intense yet playful journey through the "cocoon hole" of her sound.
Her journey began in 2017 with an SP404 live set on Hong Kong Community Radio, quickly establishing her presence on notable stages like Clockenflap and Sónar Festival (2018). In 2020, Cocoonics transitioned to the vibrant Shanghai music scene, where she was previously a resident DJ at Shanghai’s renowned club Elevator, contributing significantly to the club’s dynamic atmosphere before its closure. By 2024, she was headlining prestigious events like Boiler Room Shanghai, where her performance received widespread acclaim and positive reviews. Her shows resonate across top venues in China, including System Shanghai, Oil Shenzhen, Loopy Hangzhou, and Zhaodai Beijing, further solidifying her status as a key figure in the electronic music landscape.
Her 2021 EP “wu.../HA!” released on Eating Music, boldly explores self-growth through Cantonese spoken word, earning her a feature on Bandcamp Weekly. As the founder of Jí Collecti, a label and creative collective, she pushes the boundaries of experimental electronic music while fostering collaboration among like-minded artists.
