Mikubat aka Parsa Nazeri, is a DJ and producer with roots in Tehran and now based in Vancouver. Mikubat is about shaping a distinct sound that’s both innovative and grounded in deep cultural roots.Their signature style, “LangoBit,” mixes atmospheric textures with breaky rhythms, creating a sound that stands out in today’s electronic music scene. Mikubat’s ongoing “SAHNEHTRONIX” project, is a collaboration with AAMIROO, which dives into early 2000s Iranian electronic music, reintroducing these bouncy beats to a modern audience. Not only aiming for the nostalgia of the past, but to reclaim cultural narratives, challenging Western hegemony in the music industry, and giving voice to the experiences of the Iranian diaspora.
