AV

ephemeral objects is a Chinese-Vietnamese-Canadian interdisciplinary artist, VJ, DJ, and sound artist based in Vancouver. True to her name, her creations carry this sense of ethereality, focusing on textures and organic forms, both ephemeral and suspended in time at once. She merges generative videos with real footage to create her own unique, audio-reactive and abstract style where rich colours, spanning the full spectrum, wash over the screen, streaking the viewer’s mind with a strong image of the audio-visual journey at play. Her approach to live visuals is informed by her academic background, drawing inspiration from cultural theorists like Sara Ahmed and David Batchelor. She is passionate about how live visuals can increase the accessibility and immersiveness of in-person music events. ephemeral objects has performed at festivals in British Columbia, including Fountains, New Forms, Active Passive, and Lobe’s MOTHER CLOUD.

IHA is a Vancouver-based DJ, producer, and the head of NAGA, a banner acting as both label and event promoter. Known in the local underground club scene for their atmospheric, playful and yet cataclysmic sound curation, IHA's sets are multi-layered and shapeshifting to the occasion. Whether it is a DJ set, a mix, or a track release, each of IHA's outputs is unique and centred around experimentation and innovation. Deploying rich, lush and tastefully discreet sonic palettes, their productions range from atmospheric dub, clever and playful techno, to futuristic bass music. Forward-thinking, IHA’s forays have led them to share the bill with artists Rhyw, Om Unit, Atrice, and Blume, as well as features in festivals across the pond: Basscoast, Future Forest, Osmosis, and ADE, amongst many others.
