TRANSFORM respectfully acknowledges its location on unceded, traditional, and ancestral xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), and səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) territories.

New Forms Festival is proud to collaborate with Acceleration Radio and Fromlife to present the 21st edition of the festival that will be centered on experimental audio/visual presentations and deconstructions of genre boundaries and artistic mediums. Featuring artists exclusively from the West Coast, TRANSFORM showcases diverse style shaped by their environments, electronic communities, and traditions.

The concept of TRANSFORM is rooted in movement. The singular “form” is static and material. In its morphed state, it is without boundaries — no longer confined by conventions of genre or the need to be still.

“Acceleration Radio is an open format FM radio, live stream, and events collective with a focus on audio/visual experimentation. Alongside Fromlife and New Forms, we are bringing our maximalist inclination to deconstruct the boundaries of genre and artistic mediums.”

Reylinn McGrath, Acceleration Radio

“As one of the curators of TRANSFORM, my focus is not on confining the event within the limits of a specific genre, but rather on cultivating a space where feeling takes precedence. "Transform" is an exploration of emotion and a celebration of the myriad ways artists can convey the complexities of the human and non-human experience. It is an invitation to break free from conventional constraints and embrace the boundless possibilities of creative expression.  It's an honour to work alongside my fellow curators, In Solidarity.”

- Matty, Fromlife
