New Forms launched new forms digital in mid-2020 as a way to continue our work with music and arts community members, organizations, and spaces during the COVID-19 crisis. Our goal was to create meaningful performance opportunities for artists while securing fees that support their practices.
The series spanned colaborations with the Western Front, Lobe Studio, and Deep Blue, and the Wild Bird Trust of BC, documenting a variety of audiovisual work that activated vacated physical spaces of performance, production, and community.
New Forms Media Society would also like to acknowledge and thank the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, Heritage Canada, and the City of Vancouver for making this project possible. Having public support allows New Forms to continue to push boundaries and curate diverse projects with integrity.
