Josh Ongcol invites you to come together to work on some house dance foundations, get to know the roots of the dance and music along the way. We will start to dance with each other through group partner and solo prompts.

Josh aka Joshee is a .5 gen immigrant, queer, Filipinx, Coast Salish-based artist who found dance out of necessity; a space where grief could transmute and a vehicle to get in depth with their own story.

He has found solace in styles of house, ballroom, and waacking while expanding their movement vocabulary through contemporary dance practices. Some of his closest mentors include: Raoul Wilke, Jojo Zolina, Su feh lee, Tiffany Tregarthan; collectives: House of Siriano, House of Milan, and is an alumni of Modus Operandi. He has performed both locally and internationally, most recently in Oró (Paris), choreographed by Khoudia Toure.

He enjoys participating in battles and creating works of his own; his past work LAKBAY and currently the END: Energy Never Dies is based on the concept of the Cypher; set to premiere in Montreal in 2027.

Currently, Josh co-facilitates the weekly Q7 house sessions, bringing together dancers and DJs from all backgrounds, styles, and levels. These gatherings celebrate the spirit of joy, freedom, and communion rooted in house culture.
