New Forms acknowledges that its events and activities take place on unceded ancestral land of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Live A/V

IYE

"Iye" delves into the universal journey of self-actualization and explores the concept of the ego's capacity to distort one's self-perception during introspection, continuously creating uncertainty. Despite the inner chaos, clarity begins to take shape as one moves through the distortion to uncover fundamental, unchanging elements of one's self-identity that remain constant. These core unchanging elements will be physically depicted through the interaction between the movement and an ever-changing, distorted interactive projection screen, utilizing various computer vision techniques to analyze the data from a live camera feed.
