Beyond a threatening aura and an often veiled presentation, El Ángel Exterminador is a project born out of love and respect for Latin American electronic music.

What began as DJ sets solely showcasing music from LATAM has evolved into original compositions that blend skills from Ammo's previous analogue production work as Goo and their digital production under the mentorship of x/o

El Ángel Exterminador has developed a sound dubbed “thriller-electronics” that re-mystifies electronic music, injecting magic, spirituality, and chaos into hybrid productions - delivering sharper edges, ethereal undertones and spectral Latin American influences.

Mexico City-born, Vancouver-based Max Ammo is a multidisciplinar artist and curator working across graphic design, animation, music production, and DJing. Under the moniker El Ángel Exterminador and their projects Hechizo & Cadena, they create music and events rooted in love and respect for Latin America’s rich electronic music ecosystem.

In 2023 they opened Slime Studio, their freelance audiovisual studio online & pop up shop.

This year they were selected to be part of MUTEK Montreal’s Incubator program as an audiovisual artist as well as Chapel Sound’s Constellation Cohort mentoring the next generation of cultural producers in Vancouver.
